To Tsukuba Center (a.k.a. Tsukuba Station)
- From NARITA Airport
The easiest way is to take a limo directed to Tsukuba Center. It runs about every one hour. I don't recommend you to go to Tsukuba by train, because you need to change lines several times (and it's complicated...)
- From JR Tokyo Station
Probably the most popular way is to take JR Yamanote line to Akihabara station, then chenge the line to Tsukuba Express. Tsukuba Express runs from Akihabara terminal to Tsukuba Center terminal, so it is quite simple.
- From Haneda Station
The easiest way is to take a limo (because it reaches directly to Tsukuba Center), the most popular way is to take trains (because the trains runs frequently).
From Tsukuba Center to Daisan-Gakugun-Tou-Mae(The 3rd cluster of U-Tsukuba)
Take a taxi or use a local bus.
- Bus
Find a bus stop of "University of Tsukuba Loop Line".
There are two kinds of the loop line, left-directed one and right-directed one.
Though the right-directed line (9min) is faster than the left-directed one(16min), the fee is both 260 yen and either will go to Daisan-Gakugun-Tou-Mae.
Take a white small ticket on boarding and pay on getting of the bus. (2006/01)
- Taxi
Before you take a taxi, ask a driver about the destination. Say "Daisan-Gakugun-Tou-Mae (=the 3rd Cluster Building), Tsukuba-Daigaku (=University of Tsukuba)". You'd better to have a document or a map because they often do not understand spoken English (though many of them can can read printed English words).
The fee will be expensive (it is expensitve in Japan), but they never cheat you. Just pay by meter. No chip needed.
From Daisan-Gakugun-Tou-Mae to 3M304, my office
There will be a brown 12-story building near the bus stop. That is called building-F. Get into the building-F and go up to the 3rd floor. Go deep into the corridor, and you'll find 3M304, my office.
I'll be waiting for you.
