--- How to Shutdown ---

(0) Following equipments requires a procedure for shutting down.

PC No.1		... linux (avic1)
PC No.2		... linux (avic2)
PC No.3		... linux (avic3)
PC No.4		... linux (avic4)
EIC Computer	... Solaris7 (avicore)

(1) To shutdown our system, you have to do 3 steps which are written below.

1, shutdown all applications.
2, shutdown Linux machines. (avic1, avic2, avic3, avic4)
3, shutdown Solaris machine. (avicore)


1, Shutdown all applications on each computer
See manual4.txt and manual8.txt, which explain a method to shutdown 
xevi-v2 and lan_tv-solaris. 
About terminals, you have only to type in the terminal, "logout", 
and press return key.
About other applications, see its manual. 


2, Shutdown Linux machines.
 *** Please shutdown linux machines first, before Solaris7 ! ***
Machine hostnames are avic1, avic2, avic3 and avic4.
To shutdown Linux machine, you are required to do 3 steps
(which are 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3).
 
 2.1 Change monitor.
 You can change the input of the monitor 
 by selecting the channel on the monitor switcher, which is above the monitor.
	Channel 1 ... PC No.1
	Channel 2 ... PC No.2
	Channel 3 ... PC No.3
	Channel 4 ... PC No.4 *
	Channel 5 ... EIC Computer
	Channel 6 ... CODEC *
 * Because we are in short of switcher cables, CODEC is connected to
   Channel 4 and there is no connection to PC No.4 now.
   So please rearrange the cables as above after you get a new cable.

 2.2 Login as root
 At the "login:" prompt, type "root" and return.
 Then at the "password:" prompt, type root password and return.

 2.3 Send shutdown command
 Type "shutdown -h now" and return. Please wait until the shutdown finished.
 "Power down" or "System halted" means the end of shutdown process.
 Then, turn off the power switch of the Linux machine.


3, Shutdown Solaris machine.
  Please follow 3 steps described below.

 3.1 Logout
 If you login now as normal user (like "encoder"), you have to logout 
 at first.
 To logout, click right button of mouse, then the menu window pops up.
 Select Logout.

 3.2 Command line login as root
 In the login window, choose "Options" and "Command line login".
 Hit return key.
 At "avicore console login:", type "root" and return.
 After that, please type root password.
 
 3.3 Send shutdown command
 Type "shutdown -i0 -g0 -y" and return. 
 Please wait until the shutdown finished.
 "ok" means the end of shutdown process.
 Then, turn off the power switch of the Linux machine.
